Service Management Administrator (ServiceNow)

Position Summary: 

The Services Systems Administrator is responsible for system/business requirements, configuration, and applications maintenance. Additionally, he/she will gather and document user, process, functional and technical requirements, and develop workflow customizations to support the IT digital transformation. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of functionality, and how all ITIL processes will be implemented into the Information Technology Services Management (ITSM) framework. 

Required Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements: 

  • 3 to 5 years working in the ServiceNow platform in an Admin/Developer Capacity administering an enterprise-wide, multi-tier ITSM production environment, including the delegation of groups, modification of CMS, workflows, business rules, UI configuration, catalog items, reports, and updates. 

  • Understanding of Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Event, and Configuration Management, and correlated functionality, in ServiceNow. 

  • Must have a passion for enabling business through technology. 

  • Experience integrating ITSM with third-party tools. 

  • Experience with Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, scheduled Jobs – all scripted aspects of the Service 

  • Desk Plus or ServiceNow system 

  • Understanding of Web technologies like HTML, XML, JavaScript, and PHP. 

  • Understanding of relational database management systems, stored procedures, and queries. 

  • Ability to wear multiple hats i.e. Business Analyst, Interim Project Manager, Admin/Developer, and tester as required 

  • Experience in one (or more) scripting languages: JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, Windows Shell) 

Preferred skills: 

  • Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle) 

  • An excellent understanding of ITSM, ITIL or CMDB 

  • Experience with Service Desk Plus or ServiceNow client and server-side JavaScript and the ServiceNow APIs 

  • Scripted Web-Services, AJAX, Business Rules, JavaScript, SOAP, REST, SSO-SAML, and Integration of ITSM applications. 

  • Customizing Service Desk Plus or ServiceNow using UI Pages, UI Macro & CMS using CSS, HTML, and Jelly. 

  • Custom UI Changes with the usage of Web Technologies such as DOM, HTML changes. 


  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • ServiceNow certified admin 

  • ITIL Foundations V3 certification
