Digital Commercial Engineer

Job Description :

Key Accountabilities

·       Solve customer problems and help create solutions specifications

·       Partner with Sales to develop digital account plans for strategic customers

·       Review customer specifications and determine Company’s ability to meet the requirements

·       Share digital solutions with customers and other Company product management, engineering, operations and commercial sales teams

·       Learn new digital applications on new and existing install base products that the company brings to market

·       Recommend new solutions and leverage the company installed base to support customer needs

·       Bring VOC to Company product management so new digital solutions can be created

·       Mentor applications engineers and work collaboratively to form effective teams

·       Participate in market research, promotion, advertising activities, trade shows, employee training, and product modification or development.

·       Work with outside vendors to select appropriate accessories when required for install

·       Member of team that develops and implements a Strategic Account Management Plan (SAMP) for new and target accounts. 




Required Qualifications :

Job Requirements

·       Bachelor’s Degree (Electronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university preferred)

·       Strong communication skills to interact verbally and in writing with a variety of internal and external customers

·       5-10 years of experience in industrial automation products such as PLC or DCS and industrial networking required with experience in power transmission industry preferred.

·       5-10 years of experience with network protocols like Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus/TCP

·       Working knowledge of instrumenting equipment with sensors for data monitoring to HMI and cloud-based systems

·       Working knowledge of network devices like routers, switches, etc. that are used in a networking environment, within a factory facility preferred

·       Working knowledge of wireless devices and how to integrate them into an industrial network preferred

·       Ability to read and interpret design prints as well as customer specifications

·       Strong “hands on” problem solving skills

·       Computer proficiency in MS Office, as well as CAD or design software experience preferred

·       Up to 50% domestic and international travel may be required

·       Preferred candidates will have previous engineering experience working in heavy equipment industries
