Job Description :




















The Director leads North American procurement strategy and supply chain management for the assigned product categories.  This position is responsible for the qualification, development, and management of suppliers for industrial components and products in addition to ensuring that corporate business growth targets are supported through this department.


 



 



  Manage closely the relationship with Sales team, Engineering, and Product Managements for seamless communication of business needs


  Develop, hone and execute new and improved procurement strategies to ensure the targets of Quality, Delivery, and Cost are achieved


  Create a formalized strategic sourcing process for identifying, qualifying and managing suppliers and suppliers of finished products and components


  Ensure capable and reliable suppliers exist for each product category so that supply chain disruption is minimized


  Lead negotiations for pricing and contract terms with suppliers while leading strategic supplier relationships


  Regularly review supplier pricing, quality and reliability to ensure strategic intent is being met throughout the supply chain


  Support the start-up process of new products through timely planning of materials and components


  Travel throughout North American and Asian countries as required to meet and manage current and future suppliers


  Provide expert technical and strategic purchasing input for the entire organization


  Manage strategic sourcing team to achieve annual and long-term targets and goals while also developing subordinates to help lead the organization


  Develop a Make / Buy decision process working with our manufacturing locations to fully understand capabilities and capacities, ensure the correct decision is made for the best interest of the business, and determine which products will be manufactured at the North America facilities


  Lead the development and management of the Make-To-Order interface with suppliers to minimize the number of manual transactions required for Quoting, Ordering and Shipping of special order products


  Maintain and develop a systematic process of managing and controlling departmental projects


  Develop and execute annual budget as it relates to business and departmental goals


  Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by manager



 


 

Required Qualifications :

  Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain management for industrial businesses


  Strong, proven managerial experience


  BS or BA in engineering or related field


  International sourcing/supply chain experience preferred


  Excellent verbal and written skills


  High level of computer proficiency


  Extensive project management experience


  Experience with APICS, Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement techniques


  Experience in sourcing Sheet Metal, Electronic Parts, etc
