Japanese Speaking Financial Planning and Accounting Manager
The Managerial Accounting / FP&A Manager is responsible for the planning, budgeting, forecasting, business reporting and analysis in support of the profitability and growth. The Manager will further provide innovative financial leadership to the business units and functional leaders.
Reports and analyzes on financial and operating metrics, such as: gross margins, operating expenses and capital expenditures, etc.
Works closely with the business units, Japanese headquarters and other business teams to better understand historical financial results, trends and validate forecast assumptions.
Supports the annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecasting processes, working closely with both the business units and cost center managers.
Leads the Region’s efforts to improve & utilize data warehouse reporting tools.
Performs extensive financial modeling in support of the business units. Builds strong relationships with the headquarters Finance management teams.
Provides financial training to leaders within the organization.
Supports the Regional finance organization through goal-setting, evaluations, positive feedback, discipline, and on-going coaching ensuring activities are performed within policy.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related degree required. Post-graduate Business or Finance education, such as an MBA, a plus.
Bilingual with ability to read, write and speak both English and Japanese required
Minimum of five to seven years of increasing responsibility in financial planning and analysis demonstrating leadership of and/or management of a team.
Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage technology related tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Managerial Accounting / FP&A function.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Business and financial acumen. Ability to analyze and disseminate large amounts of data.
Exhibits customer focused behavior such as building positive relationships and strives to understand customer’s needs, both internal and external. Ability to deal with difficult situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Skilled in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as a demonstrated ability to utilize financial applications within ERP software (i.e. SAP, Oracle). Prior experience utilizing Hyperion and SAP preferred.
Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions based on investigation and judgment as well as ability to discern when to escalate issues.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adjust communication method based on customer situation.
