Network Engineer - Team Lead
In this role, the candidate will be leading a team responsible for administering servers, routers and other infrastructure for the Company and Customer Networks. This network powers 30,000 digital devices world-wide, supplying data, command and control, and real-time transaction processing through a smart phone network. The candidate will also be responsible for the network administration. The candidate will lead a team of systems administrators responsible for both Linux and Windows based application, content and communication software and will also interface with internal IT staff. He or she will also be responsible for the network engineering for the Network and internal corporate network and will be the primary corporate networking subject matter expert
The successful candidate should have a demonstrated ability administering a complex network with high availability requirements. The candidate must exhibit strong networking skills in a medium sized enterprise with Cisco edge firewalls and core switches.
· Hands on experience managing Cisco Edge Firewalls and Core switches in a high transaction rate environment.
· Experience managing F5 load balancers
· Scripting in languages such as bash, ksh, Perl, Python
· Amazon Web Services
· Network Administration (Cisco certification a plus)
· Demonstrated leadership as a team lead or project lead
Excellent written/verbal communication skills are also required.
The following specific skills are required for this position:
Hands on experience managing Cisco Edge Firewalls and Core switches in a high transaction rate environment.
Engineering networks for mid-sized, multiple campus organizations including voice, data and video services with proper QoS and traffic management.
Experience managing F5 load balancers
Proficient in techniques for assessing security of internal systems and implementing proper firewalls, threat detection and filtering.
Scripting in languages such as bash, ksh, Perl, Python
Amazon Web Services (Elastic Load Balancing configuration a plus)
Network Administration (Cisco certification a plus)
Demonstrated leadership as a team lead or project lead working with System Administrators as well as other IT staff.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems or closely related technical field.
Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced small team environment. A willingness to roll-up the sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done is essential. The ability to work well both individually as well as with others is required for this position. Demonstrated experience showing resourcefulness, a strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on commitments with minimal supervision are required.
