Job Description :

As a member of a self-organizing Agile team, you will participate in the analysis, design, development, and implementation for BI solutions using data sourced from various enterprise applications. You will design and build the necessary data integrations and Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes to accurately move data to and from the EDW, to produce timely and relevant reporting and analytic solutions.  In addition to these activities, this role will be integral in the continued evolution of our business intelligence initiatives. Specifically, the role will evaluate new technologies, data sources, and processes that align with the organization's desire to treat data as an asset and provide the business with enhanced analytic capabilities.


Candidates must have an advanced knowledge of SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL, and some data modeling experience. Candidates must have strong communication skills that allow you to regularly interact with the business, as well as with specialists from related fields, including database developers, and software engineers. Candidates must have outstanding analytical and problem solving skills and a good grasp of the technical side of business intelligence best practices, change management processes through the SDLC lifecycle, and documentation.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on involvement in the design, development and implementation of optimal, scalable BI solutions

  • Work with business analysts, product owners, and scrum masters to ensure high quality, high performing solutions to meet the business needs

  • Design and Builds ETL processes to pull various data types from various data sources; structured or unstructured, on-prem or Cloud sources

  • Creates reports, cubes and report templates used by key decision makers to gain financial and other quantitative insight

  • Regularly interacts with business SMEs to understand and refine requirements, participate in all phases of SDLC, from system analysis and design thru development and test to deployment and support

  • Troubleshoots BI tool problems and tunes for performance, validates existing data warehouse systems for data integrity, quality and accuracy and recommends improvements

  • Participates in an on-call rotation that supports the production environment

  • Create technical design and support documentation

  • Becomes highly knowledgeable in our business process and ability to self-educate when new functionality arises

  • Continuously improve technical skills through training, seminars, webinars and self-directed research / investigation

  • Is highly motivated and self- directed with the ability to work well with others in a dynamic team environment

  • Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of IS and business customers within the company, maintaining appropriate professionalism at all times

Required Qualifications :

Qualifications / Skills:

  • 3+ years Software Development Experience utilizing SDLC and Agile/Scrum

  • 3+ years Business Intelligence development , Data Warehousing (SQL), ETL (SSIS), Analysis Services, MDX, and/or Reporting Services

  • Thorough understanding of Data Warehousing architectures, techniques, and methodologies; Ability to build data models and describe data lineage relationships

  • Ability to design and develop in an Agile delivery environment. This includes understanding minimum viable product from both the business and IT standpoint to ensure delivered solutions support future features without rework

  • Must be inherently empathetic to business needs and have ability to influence and negotiate through to solutions that make appropriate trade-offs between project delivery efficiency and adherence to IT strategies

  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills amongst key stakeholders. Skilled in preparing and delivering documentation such as data flow, logical, and physical diagrams consumption by IT stakeholders

  • Self-confident with the demonstrated ability to drive change and challenge the status quo

  • Facilitation, conflict management, negotiation, and consensus building skills

  • High energy, creative, self-motivated and independent

  • Experience working with big data in Cloud, and Data lake technologies is a plus
