Senior Windows Server Operations Support Engineer and Systems Admin

 

The Senior Wintel Operations Engineer will work collaboratively across multiple IT functions, employees and vendors to ensure that IT operations for cloud and on premise global Wintel Server infrastructure is reliable and scalable. Planning and implementing programs to enable global server infrastructure to operate effectively and scale reliably. Operational excellence and continuous improvement activities for Global IT Operations through IT Services Management, process and procedures. 

People or Process Management Responsibility: 
Individual contributor. 

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: 
• Provide operational support and administration of the Reyes Holdings global enterprise VMWare VSphere and Windows server environments 
• Provide operational support and administration of the Reyes Holdings global enterprise Microsoft Azure Cloud server environments 
• Support and execute defined IT Automation tool activities or cloud server provisioning 
• Identification and troubleshooting server performance issues using server administration tools and utilities 
• Adhere to industry best practices for Windows Server and VMWare VSphere technologies. 
• Interaction with Active Directory as it relates to enterprise servers 
• Work with operations and engineering teams (Network, Storage) to implement changes, troubleshoot issues and resolve incidents 
• Adhering to department policies, procedures, and training plans for server and virtual host administration and appropriate use 
• Responsible for troubleshooting and processing operational tickets received from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support personnel as well as escalated incidents that are received from other sources 
• Responsible for the service delivery of our server operations managed service provider(s). 
• Participates in the current and future ITSM processes including but not limited to incident, problem, and change control processes 
• Recognize, identify and prioritize incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies and operational impact 
• Categorize issues for escalation and assign to appropriate technical teams where required 
• Act as escalation point for our managed service provider to review and resolve technical issues 
• Provide technical leadership and maintain accountability till issues are resolved to the business satisfaction 
• Participates in an on call rotation to provide operational support off hours and as required 
• Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks (installation of patches, network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.) 
• Enable and drive continuous improvement through the IT Service Center and Managed Service partners 
• Collect and review performance reports from various systems to identify issues, trends or develop recommendations to improve operational performance 
• Perform capacity planning, trend analysis and resource utilization reporting to manage and improve application and infrastructure operations 
• Work with internal and external technical and service teams to create and/or update knowledge base articles and runbooks to provide improved operational support 
• Develop and oversee the adherence to maintenance and performance standards 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Any other duties as assigned 
• This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test 


Required Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience: 
• Bachelor of Science with a major in Information Technology or equivalent on-the-job experience required. 
• 5-7 years working experience and proficiency with s supporting, maintaining, and administering Windows server and Microsoft technologies including troubleshooting in an Enterprise multi-site environment (? 2,000 servers) 
• Thorough working knowledge and hand on experience with Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 
• Enterprise operational experience supporting, maintaining and administering the VMWare VSphere and VMWare Vcenter platforms. 
• Enterprise operational experience supporting, maintaining and administrating Microsoft Azure cloud server environments 
• Experience with Cloud Automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Salt 
• Experience with supporting technologies and protocols including security, DNS, storage, Active Directory, scripting, and patching. 
• Prior experience working with a managed service provider 
• Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 
• This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test. 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 
• Sound working knowledge of Internet/Intranet technologies including security features. 
• Sound working knowledge of network infrastructure and operations, including switching, routing, Ethernet, TCP/IP. 
• Sound working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP 
• Experience with scripting in PowerShell or Python. 
• MCSE preferred 
• Sound working knowledge of remote access technology.
