Director, Project Management

The PMO is responsible for project execution, alignment and reporting across the organization. This role, and this team, must implement process improvement and optimization in a rapidly changing organization while maintaining a low-friction environment. The primary goal of the PMO is to ensure we reach our desired outcomes as quickly as possible with few surprises.

  • Every strategic project is effectively managed

  • The status of each project is visible, at multiple levels of detail, to anyone who wants to know

  • Excellent tooling supports both project planning and execution

  • The PMO is an effective, beloved, and happy team

The Director

  • You’ll inherit a team of 3, growing to a team of 5 (plus you)

  • On average we have 25 – 35 active projects requiring varying levels of PM oversight and involvement

  • We have some solid project management tooling in place today (e.g. JIRA, Structure, Trello, and more!) – so you are not starting from scratch. Plus we are always open to adding / changing what we do. Change is constant

  • We’ve been doing this for a few years – so we already have some documented project management practices and methodologies you can leverage and enhance

  • Our existing PM team brings years of industry experience, project management experience, and experience to the table. You will be well supported! 

What you'll do all day:

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of methodologies, tools, and processes for managing projects across the organization

  • Help establish, refine and implement policies, strategies, and operating plans to ensure optimal project execution

  • Oversee the portfolio of projects; ensure that all projects are executed efficiently and that we always reach exceptional outcomes

  • Amass, lead and develop an exceptional PMO team

  • Manage reporting across the portfolio of projects and initiatives

  • Oversee technology communication, including the creation and delivery of software release notes, technology blogs, and other internal and external communiques to ensure our employees, our partners, and our clients know what we have delivered and what’s coming next

  • Foster a culture of accountability, cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement and coordinated execution


Required Qualifications :

You may be a fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computing Science, or a related field

  • 5+ years in progressively responsible roles, including Project and/or Service Management or Technology

  • Experience working with software development teams
