Overview





Our Client is looking to add a Sales Engineer to its already successful sales team. As a member of the fast paced, fun and exciting inside sales team, you will be responsible for delivery of pre-sales technical solutions to target customers, in all verticals, in your territory. In this role, you will employ your subject matter expertise to overcome technical objections presented during the sales cycle. You will be responsible for the effective conceptual and hands-on management of customer facing proof of concept testing and trials. During the sales cycle, you will also perform the critical role of capturing customer feature requests and enhancements to provide feedback to our product teams. At times, you will work closely with the Enterprise Support Team on managing technical challenges presented during the sales cycle. Your sales goal will be to exceed quarterly sales quota objectives for assigned sales team and territory.


 


The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a proven track record working in the network device manufacturer or SaaS industries, and has a broad base of networking knowledge and experience. He or she must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a developing organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. In addition to technical skills, Solutions Engineers must possess strong presentation and business communication skills as well as an understanding of business processes and key decision points related to product development. Organized, analytical, and able to adhere to deadlines, this individual will be able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.





 


Responsibilities






  • Responsible for driving technical sales strategy for client's products in assigned territory

  • Understand and assess complex technical requirements and business challenges to arrive at the appropriate technical solution

  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve technical problems during pre-sales motion

  • Successful execution and management of customer facing proof of concepts and trials including hands-on device configuration and testing with emphasis on shortening the sales cycle

  • Establish confidence in the recommended client's technical solutions with customers

  • Collaborate with SE peers, Sales, and Support teams to establish product and implementation best practices, and technical sales training

  • Overcome technical objections

  • Achieve sales quota objectives as part of a sales team

  • Ability to be professional and have fun… and know when it’s appropriate for each

  • Solid communication skills for both internal and external customers and partners

  • Proficient with LAN/WAN network topologies and interworking (i.e. BGP, OSPF, MPLS)

  • At least 3 of the below core competencies:

    • Has an applied fundamental understanding of enterprise 802.11 Wi-Fi solutions (i.e. Aruba, Meraki, Ruckus)

    • A solid understanding of cellular wireless connection technologies (i.e. EVDO, HSPA+, LTE)

    • Ability to design and deploy Virtual Private Network solutions (IPsec, TLS, OpenVPN, DMVPN)

    • Ability to demonstrate cloud-based network management solutions

    • Solid understanding of network security technologies (i.e. UTM, Firewalls, IDS/IPS)

    • Ability to sell and deliver SaaS, SDN and SD-WAN software applications





  • 3+ years’ experience as a Sales Engineer, Field Engineer or Technical Support Engineer in networking industry and/or relevant work experience

  • Must enjoy working in a high pace environment with strong team work, customer service and time management skills

  • Ability to speak well and articulate technical solutions to all levels of the IT organization

  • Excellent technical presentation skills via phone, with screen sharing tools, and in-person

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent related work experience

  • Open to a light amount of travel for trade shows and/or customers in-person visits
