Network Analyst II


 


Purpose:  Assure the availability and efficient operation of the company network and its related computer system software and hardware. 




Essential Job Functions and Tasks:

  • Technical Support


    • o   Provide support for company's networking and/or communications environments. 


      o   Consult with users to analyze their needs and determine hardware and software functional specifications.


      o   Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.


      o   Thoroughly detail all tasks and procedures.


      o   Provide technical support for users of the NFA network and support Help Desk operations.


      o   Assist in budget planning. 


      o   Train staff and provide assistance as required.





  • Information Security and Security Compliance


    • o   Adhere to appropriate security practices and procedures.


      o   Monitor and audit for security compliance.


      o   Follow all change management requirements and make recommendations for enhancements.





  • Network Monitoring and Reporting


    • o   Monitor and audit network/system backups. 


      o   Generate and analyze reports depicting network/system performance and usage to ensure operating at peak efficiency.


      o   Review response time and bandwidth utilization statistics utilizing network utilities and tools (e.g. network analyzers, performance monitoring software, statistics and reports).





  • Hardware/Software Installation and Maintenance

    • Install, customize and maintain all core technologies (Microsoft, Cisco, HP) and any related 3rd party hardware/software.

    • Research and implement new software releases, preventative maintenance and problem fixes (e.g. service packs, patches, bios upgrades).


    • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network/system related problems via logs, error messages and dumps.




    • Work with vendors, or independently, to take corrective action.






  • Research, Testing and Disaster Recovery




    • Participate in disaster recovery tests.




    • Practice required backup and recovery procedures.




    • Research and evaluate new hardware/software security settings.




    • Research, evaluate, test and recommend new technology and products.




    • Assure cost-effectiveness by analyzing needs and investigating new product offerings from vendors.






Required Qualifications :

Requirements:




**MUST HAVE - Cisco DNA and Cisco ISE experience 



  • Technical:


    • Minimum of four years of experience installing, upgrading, configuring and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint Server and Microsoft SQL Server




    • Minimum of four years of experience in data/voice networking environments



    • Experience installing, customizing and maintaining HP, Cisco, Microsoft, and/or Linux-based technologies


    • Experience working with key networking elements (e.g. firewalls, VPNs, proxy servers, email systems, telecommunication circuits, voice/data security controls, disaster recovery/business continuity practices, problem resolution tools)




    • Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products






  • Non-Technical:



    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Self-motivated and detail oriented


    • Must be analytically adept, creative, and able to multi- task while handling shifting priorities



    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

    • Must be highly dependable

    • Willing to work off hours if warranted



  • Education/Certification:

    • Industry recognized certification, such as a CCNA or MCSE, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Information Systems or Computer Science
